LAKE HELEN (FL) – A man in central Florida had chemical explosives at his home. Terrorist groups like al-Qaeda called it “Satan’s mother,” according to the sheriff.

According to a Facebook post, Volusia County Sheriff’s Deputies and Helen Lake Police responded on Tuesday to Jared Coburn’s home. Officers found TATP (triacetone triperoxide), a highly volatile white crystal powder.

Helen Lake Police Chief Mike Walker stated that “he was trying to explain to us that he wasn’t making his own version of fireworks.” Federal agents and members of demining units also responded to the situation. Sheriff Mike Chitwood stated that the goal was to minimize the damage and ensure no one is hurt.

He said, “Everyone is there because everyone understands the danger involved.”

Coburn was ordered to be detained in a county correctional institution without bail. Coburn was charged with making a potentially explosive device as well as storing/transporting an explosive with intent for harm.

Florida has 1,200 miles of beautiful beaches and natural wonders. There are also many people who seem to have more problems in Florida than people from other states.
Twitter message from the sheriff’s office added that people heard a boom Tuesday that indicated that they had destroyed the TATP.
