BARTOW. A Winter Haven man was sentenced last year to one year in prison for stealing a car that he couldn’t drive.
Patrick Trower, 21, pled guilty to two counts of car theft and burglary in October. The charges of vehicle theft, possession of morphine, and possession or use of drug paraphernalia were dropped by the prosecutor’s office.
Trower was sentenced by the judge to one year and 27 days in prison.
Trower was trying to steal a Nissan Sentra from a Northwest Sixth Street gas station worker. Trower was arrested by Winter Haven police. Trower was unable to operate the gear lever, and the car stopped when Trower attempted to drive off.
