Florida man wanted to visit Hooters so much that he told 911 dispatchers that he needed a ride because his grandmother had suffered a stroke in the parking garage.
Jonathan Hinkle, 28, was instead given a ride to the Brevard County Jail on Tuesday night.
Hinkle called back in March. According to police, deputies spent three hours searching for his grandmother. She said that she had not suffered a stroke and hadn’t asked for any help when they found her in another area.
According to news reports, Hinkle said to the dispatcher that he would pay the responders to drive him to Florida’s Atlantic Coast Hooters so that he could help grandmother.
Hinkle was charged with misusing 911. He was released on bail Wednesday night. Records don’t show an attorney for Hinkle.
