Broward County officials say that the 22-year old man from Florida was arrested Wednesday night and charged with first-degree killing in the shooting death of rapper XXXTentacion.
Dedrick Devonshy Williams (22), of Pompano Beach, was taken into custody just before 19:00. According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office documents, Wednesday. He was charged with first-degree murder and driving without a license.
XXXTentacion, real name Jaseh Onfroy, was shot and killed while leaving RIVA Motors in Deerfield Beach. Two armed men approached Onfroy, and the shooting may have been part of an armed robbery. The police may be looking for another suspect.
The controversial 20-year old rapper was a rising star. He was currently awaiting trial for aggravated beating, domestic strangulation, and illegal imprisonment. In a Miami New Times article, Onfroy’s ex-girlfriend described the alleged abuse that occurred during and before her pregnancy.
