DAYTONA BEACH (CBSMiami / / AP) — No fantastic deed goes unpunished, right? Researchers say that the 27-year-old Florida guy staged a collision on Interstate 95 and stole a pickup truck by a guy who stopped to help.
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes said in a statement that 27-year-old Zachary Searles struck on a van in front of him Monday night. Montes states 52-year-old Felix Coffman stopped by to help.
When Coffman got from his truck, Searles got in and drove off, Montes says.
Volusia County sheriffs deputies say that they shortly discovered a truck parked out of Searles’ house and detained him. He’s charged with various offenses, such as theft of a huge vehicle, and has been held on a $ 6,000 bond.
Searles’ attorney didn’t show up in the court documents.
