Florida authorities claimed that a man was responsible for the death of his grandmother, 87 years old, who was found dead in her bed.
According to Brevard County sheriff’s deputies, Allen Arias took Anita Arias to the hospital when she was not responding. The woman was covered in bedsores, some of which were infested by larvae.
A home search warrant discovered frozen meals, dirty diapers, blood, and fecal staining on the walls and bed. Authorities also discovered full prescription bottles for Anita Arias who was suffering from dementia. Authorities stated that she was healthy when Allen Arias brought Allen Arias home from rehab in December.
An autopsy revealed that she died from malnutrition and dehydration. Her blood sugar was also high enough to be measurable.
Florida Today reports that Arias has been charged with Aggravated Manslaughter of an Elderly Man
