PORT RICHIE (Florida). Monday saw the arrest of a Port Ritchie man after he allegedly threw a piece of pizza at his mother during an altercation, and then fled from police.
According to the Pascoe County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Stempel, 37, had an argument with his mother. His mother requested that he leave her house. According to the MPs, Stempel said to his mother that he would call the “cops” in order to take him out. According to deputies, when the victim tried to use her cell phone to call 911 and speak to a dispatcher, Stempel grabbed the phone out of her hands and hung it up. According to MPs, Stempel then threw a piece o pizza at his mother and hit her in the stomach.
According to the deputies, Stempel was found in a park near Lake Liza by his friends. He fled from them. Stempel eventually stopped running and placed his hands behind his back. According to MPs, Stempel denies the charges and claimed that his mother was a lie.
Stempel was charged for domestic violence, interfering in the victim’s lives, and resisting violence.
