Sun-Sentinel reports that a South Florida man died Friday after jumping from a car and then drowning in a canal.
Miramar police attempted to stop traffic near a Florida motorway service area, Tanya Roose spokeswoman. But the driver struck several parked cars before driving off, according to the newspaper.
WTVJ reported that later in the evening, a local resident called police to report that a man was in danger of drowning in the canal behind their house.
According to WSVN, the Miramar fire crew pulled the body from the canal and transported him to Hollywood Hospital.
“Shortly after, the victim was pronounced deceased,” Roose stated to Sun-Sentinel.
