(NBC) — A Florida man was arrested Tuesday at the Tampa Bay region after authorities said he ceased an undercover detective by posing as an officer.
Matthew Joseph Erris, 26, was driving his white 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer when he turned on blue and red lights to prevent another motorist, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff. The detective saw Erris’ automobile before the sheriff’s deputies might reply.
After MPs hunted the Trailblazer, they discovered that an airsoft pistol that seemed like a pistol in a holster, also discovered that Erris’s automobile had a lightbar on top of an SUV. Erris was charged with impersonating an officer and published Thursday on $ 2,000 bond, according to the arrest record.
The Sheriff’s Department has requested anybody who may have been Erris’ victims to speak to their workplace.
